Wheel of Fortune turns more controversy with Pat Sajak’s 40th anniversary episode

Things have been interesting lately Wheel of Fortune this holiday season. After some recent setbacks over a contestant who missed a car due to a technical point, host Pat Sajak remained positive by celebrating his 40th anniversary as host of the popular game show. On Twitter, he told his followers that December 28 is officially his 40th year in the post, a monumental achievement that is definitely reason for a celebration.

“What a week!” Sajak wrote. “25 Dec… Christmas Day. 28 Dec… 40th anniversary of my first Wheel on NBC during the day. 31 Dec… 32nd wedding anniversary. January 1, 2022 begins. And that should be almost better than 2021, right? Well, not true? “On the day of the anniversary, Sajak added:” When I started hosting Wheel (with Susan Stafford) on this date 40 years ago, including the top 10 TV shows Dallas, Three’s Company, The Jeffersons, and The Dukes of Hazzard. Ronald Reagan was in his 1st year as president. Number 1 song: Olivia Newton-John’s ‘Physical’. ”

Since fans knew that Tuesday’s episode served as Sajak’s 40th anniversary program, many viewers were shocked to see that the event did not receive a single mention on the program. The episode was indistinguishable from those that came before it, and you really would have no way of knowing it was such a special day for Pat Sajak |. Programs are typically pre-recorded, which may explain the alleged surveillance, but some fans cried nastyly on social media and felt that Wheel of Fortune despised his own host.

“WOW! Not a single mention of Pat Sajak’s 40th birthday at last night’s Wheel of Fortune??? This is unacceptable, “tweeted one fan.

“Happy 40th wheel eater! And ashamed Wheel of Fortune not to drop balloons, serve cake and a tribute! “writes another fan, responding to a sweet tribute to Sajak posted by his daughter Maggie.

“Sorry Wheel did not mention this on last night’s program, ”says someone else.

Oddly enough, the failure to acknowledge Sajak’s anniversary was not the only source of controversy that erupted from Tuesday’s program. During the bonus round, contestant Eric Morgan correctly solved a puzzle by saying, “I think, uh … whole wheat pasta.” While “whole wheat paste” was the correct answer, some fans were surprised that he got the win because they thought he would be penalized for a technical point.

This closes back on a recent controversy with another participant misses a new car. In that situation, the contestant stopped while giving a correct answer, and she was consequently not awarded an Audi Q3. Many fans expressed frustration over the technique and there was a move on social media for her to get the car anyway. Audi has noticed and announced that they are indeed giving her the Audi Q3 in the spirit of the holiday season.

“In the spirit of the holidays, we’re delighted to present Charlene with a brand new Audi Q3.” Tara Rush, Audi of America’s Chief Marketing Officer, said fox. “After all, it’s the season of giving and, technically or not, we’re always eager to share a little Audi magic and rejoice!”
