No Way Home writers hope the film’s secret stars get their own sequels

Given the amount of money already paid in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there’s not going to be an end to the stream of Spidey movies eliminated by Marvel and Sony anytime soon. There are preliminary plans for a new movie trilogy with Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker, and maybe this could just be one of many big projects fans can look forward to. Before we continue with this story, be warned that BIG PAMPER is for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Even if you have not seen the movie, chances are you are aware of it No way home‘s biggest surprises at this point. The tremendous attention surrounding the film around the returning stars of previous film franchises has made the treats almost impossible to avoid. As fans saw for the first time at the premiere, the sequel has indeed brought back the previous Spider man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. This followed a few months of speculation with no official confirmation that either of the two would be in the film.

Tom Holland’s future as Spidey is being questioned, even though it looks likely he will be back for more web-swinging in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So what happens to the other Spider-Men? For many fans who were excited to see them both, it was bittersweet in some ways because it left so many to see more. It was nice to see the Maguire Spidey, but what else has happened in the Raimi verse since the events of Spider-Man 3? The same goes for Garfield, who found some redemption in the new film. This is not left fans eager to see The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

These decisions are not for the screenwriters, but Spider-Man: No Way Home authors Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers hope both Maguire and Garfield will return as their Spideys at some point in the future. In a new interview with Variety, the couple fully endorses the idea of bringing them both back. In fact, they almost teased new stories for the Spider-Men with a middle credit or post-credit scene in No way home.

“I would hope so!” McKenna said when asked if Maguire and Garfield would return. “I would like to see more of their journey. We even talked about, ‘Oh, we can do a [post-credit] mark with this one! We can tag with that one!'”

While presumably making a joke, Sommers went so far as to Scooby Doo style series by adding: “Can we do a TV show with the two of them traveling in a van to solve puzzles?”

“Like, no, you were not supposed to say that, ”McKenna joked back. “We is do Tobey and Andrew in a van that goes from town to town! ”

The Spider-Men in a Surname series does not seem likely to happen, but given the success of No way home, new movies starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are not out of the question. Sam Raimi is now even in the MCU fold with the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Versatile of Madness, so maybe he would be ready for finally do Spider-Man 4 with Maguire. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is now also more sought after by fans than ever because of the new film, so in any case, the chances are now better than they ever were before when it comes to both of these films happening.
