Because Bob Saget was such a beloved comedian, his passing made him feel very sad. Among those who feel particularly sad are his longtime friends with whom he has worked for years. Voltal and his spinoff series Full House. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse in the series, expressed in a post on Twitter how “gutted” he feels about the news. This has clearly hit very hard for Stamos who have stayed very close to Saget since Voltal days.
“I’m broken,” Stamos said. “I’m confused. I’m totally shocked. I’ll never have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”
Dave Coulier, the third part of the trio, also posted a message online. The Uncle Joey actor said, “My heart is broken. I love you, Bob. Your eternal brother, Dave.”
“I do not know what to say,” adds Saget’s TV daughter Candace Cameron Bure, who played DJ Tanner-Fuller. “I have no words. Bob was one of the best people I have ever known in my life. I loved him so much.”
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. “He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, by acting live and making people from all walks of life laugh together,” said Saget’s family. The Hollywood Reporter. “Although we are now asking for privacy, we invite you to remember with us the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”
Bob Saget has long been known as America’s Dad for his starring role in Voltal as family patriarch Danny Tanner. Many of the sitcom’s episodes would end with Danny’s sincere conversations with his daughters, played by Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. For many who remember how they grew up with the program, Danny served as a father figure who learned many of life’s important lessons. Saget renamed the role for the Netflix spinoff program Full House.
Anyone who has watched television in the 90’s will also host Saget’s days as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. This performance was about as squeaky clean as comedy can get, and it was far from the type of material Saget liked to deliver on stage. After leaving the family-friendly TV shows and focusing on his stand-up, Saget would have become better known for his harsh kind of humor. One example of this comes from the documentary The Aristocrats, which featured a wide variety of well-known comedians who told different versions of the same joke. Saget’s was by far the dirtiest, astonishing number of those who only knew him Voltal.
From his G-rated humor to the more mature jokes he would say during his performances, Saget has made millions laugh over the past few decades. It is clear how badly he will be missed from the amount of love he has received online. Rest in peace, Bob Saget.
After four weeks in theaters, Spider-Man: No Way Home has become the eighth greatest world movie of all time.
