Pig director Michael Sarnoski is in talks with Paramount Pictures over a spin-off to John Krasinski’s A quiet place. The currently untitled film is based on an original idea by Krasinski and takes place in the same world as A quiet place. As per Deadline, Paramount is planning a shared universe around the 2018 horror film, which was inevitable considering both A quiet place and its successor in 2021 were major critical and commercial hits for the studio.
Formerly, Midnight Special director Jeff Nichols was involved in the project, but friendly left last October to direct another high-profile science fiction film for Paramount Pictures. No details regarding the A quiet place spin-off has been released; However, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are not expected to resume their roles. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are on board as producers, along with John Krasinski, which produces via its Sunday Night Productions banner. Judging by how quickly the studio found a replacement for Nichols, it looks like A quiet place spin-off is a high-priority film for Paramount.
Michael Sarnoski gained notoriety for directing the great 2021 drama Pig, starring Nicolas-hok in the lead, and then revived the Ghost Rider star’s career in the process. Admittedly, Cage has produced some fantastic movies in the last few years, as Joe, Mandy, en Color outside the space, but he took it to a whole new level with his sad and poignant performance in Pig, plays a truffle feeder in search of his beloved pig. He’s creating Oscar buzz these days, and Cage acknowledges Sarnoski for all the praise, even referring to him as “Archangel Michael.”
“I knew after a few flops that I was marginalized in the studio system; and I was not going to be invited by them,” says Cage. “I always knew it would take a young filmmaker to come back or remember a few movies I made and know that I might be ready for his screenplay and rediscover me. And that’s why he’s not just Michael. “No, he’s Archangel Michael. It would not have happened if he had not had the open mind to say, ‘Come with me.’
A quiet place 3 is in early development
When A quiet place came out in 2018, no one could have predicted that this low-profile horror film would earn more than $ 350 million worldwide. The film starred Emily Blunt and John Krasinski as a couple trying to survive and raise their children in a post-apocalyptic world where terrifying aliens hunt for sound. With a nerve-racking score and relentless tension, A quiet place quickly became an abomination. Its continuation, A quiet place Part II eventually became a critical hit and broke several box office records in the pandemic era.
John Krasinski soon confirmed that he had ideas for the trio, but was not ready to commit to directing.. A quiet place Part II ended on an open note, still teasing sequels. With the success of the first two films and the incredible audience reception, it’s almost certain we’ll see it A quiet place 3. But when? It remains unknown. For now, we’ll have to suffice with Michael Sarnoski’s vision. Who knows, maybe Blunt and Krasinski will show up for a cameo.
The untitled A quiet place spin-off was originally scheduled for release on March 31, 2023, but that may change now. Hopefully Sarnoski will produce a film as outstanding as his directorial debut, Pig.
Director Jeff Nichols will air a third A Quiet Place movie that has a March 2023 release date.
