Johnny Knoxville says his life on the edge game is over: ‘I’ve Done Enough’

Jackass forever is in theaters next month, and the original recipe players call it their last round. It’s almost 22 years since the Jackass The series hit MTV and stunned the audience with their unbridled joy of joking and torturing their peers, which left viewers stunned with their seemingly unlimited tolerance for pain.

Johnny Knoxville sit down with Variety to discuss his last tricks and the passing of what will surely be a torch wired with electrodes manned by a giggling pal ready to take their turn. The story begins with a bull with no sense of humor. “I was trying to do magic in a bull ring,” Knoxville explains. “I wanted to make an animal joke, and that’s what we came up with.” It was a big joke … at Knoxville. The bull rushed at him, hit him straight and struck him high in the air. The always present ambulance with EMTs rushed to the scene.

“I get in, and they ask me questions,” Knoxville says. “They asked me who the president is (in December 2020) and I could not come up with it the day before. I told Obama. Maybe because it’s who I wished for. “Please, please, Obama!” When all was said and done, “I have a broken wrist, broken rib, concussion and cerebral hemorrhage,” Knoxville agrees. “My family does not like that I do this type of thing. This is the most vicious bullfight I have ever had. ”

“My cognitive skills took a few months to come back,” Knoxville explains. “I walked and talked and had a conversation, but I was not 100% for three months. I could not sit still. I could not focus on anything, which is usually a problem, but it was really a problem. I was like a butterfly flying around. ” After the neurologist told them, it was decided that the tricks that would be performed by Knoxville later in the film would be abolished or left to be enjoyed by the new joker. “Those were big and could end so badly,” he says. “Too bad. I’ve done enough. I have nothing to prove. I have kids to raise. That is the most important thing. ”

“Are you going back to Jackass Number Two, and I look through the cracks of my fingers. Of course, once it’s over and everything’s in order, it’s this amazing thing you’m so excited about. But when that happens, it’s fucking sucking. And on this fourth one it was not right. “

Nevertheless, they describe their film as “To celebrate the joy of being back with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass team returns for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd and often dangerous performances of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast. Johnny and the team push the envelope even further. ” Jackass forever turning in theaters on February 4th.
