Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie Is ‘Still Coming’ Promised by Jason Blum

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria will open its doors sometime in the future as Jason Blum wants to assure Five nights at Freddy’s fans that the film processing is still very much in development. At this point, you really can not blame fans for feeling skeptical about the film that will ever see the light of day. It’s been in development for a few years now, currently with Blumhouse going to take over the film, but the lack of major updates has led many to suspect that the adaptation should have been canceled.

Blum recently took to Twitter to explain that the Five nights at Freddy’s movie is still happening, even though progress has been very slow. When one fan asked Blum directly how the movie was going, the producer replied, “It’s really coming. I promise, guys.”

Previously, Chris Columbus was the director Five nights at Freddy’s, although Blum has since stated that the director is no longer involved. Talk to Botser, Blum also talked about how difficult it was to get a version of the screenplay that was solid enough for Scott Cawthon, the creator of the game, to give the film the green light. One of the conditions for getting this film made is that Cawthon must approve the story.

“It’s really hard to crack,” Jason Blum said. “We’ve written several scripts, and we have where we thread a needle, which does right to Five nights at Freddy ‘ s and make Scott (Cawthon) happy. The only way we’ll work is to give Scott … I do not want to do something that Scott does not like. Let me put it another way. I do not have the right to do anything Scott does not like. “Basically, Scott has kind of the equivalent of ‘final cut’ and it took longer than I was hoping to get the right story.”

Meanwhile, other Killer Animatronic movies are released

The Banana Splits movie preview brings the horror to SyFy
Warner Bros.

The Five nights at Freddy’s video game is set up after closing time in a Chuck E. Cheese-style fun center for kids. It is populated by animatronics that come alive at night and roam the grounds, and to survive the night shift worker must remain out of sight in the security office. Basically, the simple concept suggests what would happen if those cute animatronic animals tried to kill people at night.

We are still waiting for the Freddy’s film, but the success of the games inspired other movies. Warner Bros. revived the classic show The Banana Splits with a 2019 movie that portrayed the characters as sentimental and murderous, similar to Five nights at Freddy’s. Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage starred in the horror film Willy’s Wonderland who follows the actor as a wanderer working at an abandoned family entertainment center haunted by eight animatronics.

Still, many Five nights at Freddy’s fans are very eager to see that film make its way to theaters. Blum’s latest update is a good sign, but let’s hope that a real pull can start happening soon.
