Impossible 7 & 8 until 2023 and 2024

As we head towards the end of another month, the seemingly endless Covid pandemic has led Paramount to announce that Tom cruisesay Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 finds it an impossible mission to set a release date, with both movies getting a further delay of one year each until their previously set release dates. The latest installments of the popular action franchise have already had numerous delays over the past 20 months, and now Mission: Impossible 7 will move from 30 September 2022 to 14 July 2023, while Mission: Impossible 8 slides from 7 July 2023 to 28 June 2024.

The Impossible mission follow-up stories have struggled to find a release date since the early part of the pandemic in April 2020, when the 7th movie in the franchise was moved from July to December that year. Of course, as the pandemic continued to cause massive disruption to movie recordings and release schedules, the film was then moved to November 2021, and then again this year, which once again failed to hold up. Paramount’s other Tom Cruise movie Top Gun: Maverick will for the time being still hold its 27th May 2022 release date.

around Cruise’s return as Ethan Hunt had been on the road for so long that some fans began to doubt whether they would ever see the movies arrive in movie theaters. While Paramount will of course release the movies when it feels like the time is right, another year-long delay for both films may end up being a bit over-cautious. Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s recent phenomenal success has proven that audiences will turn up in numbers for the right movie, and Paramount’s own Shout had just had a strong opening at the box office.

While movies like the Impossible mission sequels, like many releases, would be more successful if Covid were no longer a factor, the uncertainty about how long it will take before Covid becomes a thing with which the world lives in a normal state makes it challenging to challenge work when it’s going to be a good time to release a movie. In a year there could be another superwave of the disease, and would that lead to another delay? In all, the Impossible mission The series earned more than $ 3.5 billion over the first six movies, making the sequels almost certain hits when they are released. To further delay these movies, fans will have had a five-year wait ever since Mission: Impossible – Fallout arrived in movie theaters in 2018, which actually puts them in line with the gaps between most of the other movies in the franchise.
