The Riddler Attacks in Haunting Clip from The Batman

Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne is almost wiped out in a new track from The Batman. Officially, the long-awaited superhero movie will make its big screen debut in March, and for fans eagerly awaiting this release, that date may not come soon enough. To help some of you hold on until that movie arrives in its entirety, you can watch a brand new track from The Batman below. Since this is a two-and-a-half minute scene that comes directly from the film, be warned that the footage SPOILERS.

In the track, Bruce Wayne can be seen at a packed funeral when loud noises interrupt the proceedings. Moments later, a car clearly chased by the Riddler sent through the building and comes only a foot away to Mr. Wayne himself to flatten. Wayne notices a silhouette from above of a man watching the massacre, and the implication is it must be that our Riddler gets himself a wonderful view of the action.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

When the car finally stopped, the Gotham police officers ordered the driver to get out. We can see someone’s arms slowly peeking out as the person inside the vehicle begins to climb out, but the blink cuts off just before we see their identity. Maybe this will be an important plot point in the film itself, but we’ll have to wait for the full movie to see what exactly the Riddler is doing in this situation.

The Riddler has not traditionally been portrayed in DC stories as someone who is as murderous as he appears to be The Batman. This version, played by Paul Dano, seems to be inspired by the Zodiac Killer, from his mysterious appearance to the bizarre mysteries he deliberately leaves behind in crime scenes. Perhaps in the vein of keeping the Riddler’s identity private as well, Dano’s face was not shown in any preview or trailers. Dano also suggested that he put so much more into the role than simply basing himself on a notorious serial killer.

“I liked how grounded and great this film is at the same time,” the actor said Rich. “So there are some ground forces like the Zodiac Killer, right? But it’s still The Batman, and for me it’s much bigger, so it was important to get my imagination reacting to the script, rather than basing it strictly on a serial killer. ”

Matt Reeves directs The Batman using a screenplay co-written with Peter Craig. The film stars Robert Pattinson (Bruce Wayne / Batman), Paul Dano (The Riddler), Zoe Kravitz (Selina Kyle / Catwoman), Jeffrey Wright (James Gordon), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), and Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot). Continue on The Batman seems inevitable, and while none is officially green yet, there are plans to develop at least two additional programs at HBO Max. One filly follows the GPD while the other follows Farrell’s Oz as he becomes the Penguin.

Na a long production process, fans can finally check out The Batman when the movie starts in theaters on March 4, 2022.
