Fans ask Bryce Dallas Howard to direct Star Wars movie

There are no guarantees that having a famous director as a dad automatically means you will have their talent, but it seems like Bryce Dallas Howard certainly proved that the apple does not fall far from the tree. The daughter of the famous actor and director Ron Howard has already proven herself in both fields, after appearing in movies of Spider-Man 3 after the Jurassic World franchise and worked behind the camera on episodes of Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Now she has returned to directing for The book by Boba Fett’s fifth episode, which surprisingly only focused on The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin, and led to calls for Howard to be allowed to direct her own Star Wars Movie.

Since the final credits rolled Return of the Jedi in 1983, filmmakers including JJ Abrams, Rian Johnson, Gareth Edwards and even Ron Howard all joined George Lucas to explore the world of Star Wars on the big screen with pre-stories, sequels and accessories that more often led to more criticism than praise. Performances such as The Mandalorian went on to build the universe of the franchise, and saw Bryce Dallas Howard and others gain a lot of fan support for their work on the series, which is no small feat.

The book by Boba Fett saw Howard return to confirm her place as one of the most focused directors working on the franchise. The latest episode of the Fett series has returned to storylines of The Mandalorian, and with Howard already working on several episodes of both seasons of that show, it seems like she was definitely the perfect choice to direct fan-favorite Djarin’s return to screens in the spin-off of the spin-off. After Wednesday’s episode, Twitter was full of praise for Howard, both from fans and from others in the industry. Check out some support for her work below.

Bryce Dallas Howard began her acting career decades before taking on the role of Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World franchise, from her first small roles in Apollo 13 and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, through larger parts in The Twilight Saga, Pete’s Dragon and Rocket man, and on her espionage thriller which is now being filmed Argyl, which also features Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell and Bryan Cranston.

Directed on Documentary Fit, and then expanded her exposure behind the camera with The Mandalorian, Howard is going to adopt the upcoming remake of Flight of the Navigator, the 1986 family-science-fiction adventure, recently announced, is coming soon. While there is a lot of potential Star Wars projects for Howard to get her teeth in when the time is right, she will not be too far from the franchise until then, as she returns for the third season of The Mandalorian.

Recently, Disney + series took away the glamor of the big-screen Star Wars outings, and with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series arriving this year, it’s something that will apparently continue in the near future. At the moment, the Patty Jenkins are directing Rogue Squadrons, which was delayed late last year, is one of the few movie projects currently in production. While there may be a big-budget movie or two coming up in the future, the true and when something that is currently somewhere in a galaxy is far, far away.
