Photos from the set of HBO Max’s Batgirl movie reveal a peek at Michael Keaton’s return as Batman, complete with the classic Batsuit.

Michael Keaton‘s Batman is back on the set of Batgirl. Currently, principal photography is underway on the upcoming HBO Max movie starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon. It’s well known at this point that Keaton will first return as his version of the Dark Knight in the upcoming superhero movie The Flashand it’s since been reported he’d also be appearing in Batgirl as well. Images taken from the set shared to social media provide the first sneak peek at Keaton’s return in the Batsuit.

The photos leave a lot to be desired in terms of image quality, but we can definitely see just enough to recognize Keaton’s Batman, and for any fan very eager to see the character’s return, there’s enough to get excited about. There’s no telling when we’ll be given an official look at Keaton’s Batman, but Grace recently shared an image of herself in the Batgirl costume from the film, ready to fight crime on the streets of Gotham. Warner Bros. might be waiting for Keaton to first appear in The Flash before giving fans a real close look at him in the Batsuit.


Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for Life) direct Batgirl using a screenplay by Christina Hodson (The Flash). Along with Leslie Grace as Barbara, the film brings back JK Simmons as Jim Gordon, her father, while Brendan Fraser will be playing the villain Firefly. Other cast members include Ivory Aquino, Jacob Scipio, Rebecca Front, and Corey Johnson.

When it was reported that Micheal Keaton would reprise his Batman and Batman Returns role as Bruce Wayne in The Flash, the news was very well-received by fans. He previously spoke about his reasoning for coming back, and the actor admits he’d always had the idea of ​​reprising the role in the back of his mind. Feeling convinced he could nail a Batman return, Keaton did not need to spend too much time thinking about it once the offer came along to play Batman again.
