New Ant-Man 3 Images Show Paul Rudd Filming In Los Angeles

It has been pretty quiet on the Ant-Man front, but new images from the set have shown evergreen Paul Rudd filming on the Marvel sequel.

Paul Rudd Shows Off New Ant-Man 2 Costume in Funny Q & A Video

As Marvel set photos go, the first images showing Paul Rudd filming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are possibly the most mundane and least exciting you will ever see, but considering the upcoming MCU has seen nothing but radio silence when it comes to information leaking out, the sight of Rudd in casual clothes getting a coffee is like retrieving the Ark of the Covenant . The images were acquired by The Daily Mailand show the actor in Los Angeles on a set made up to look like San Francisco.

The third Ant-Man movie began filming last year at The Volume, the same studio used for TV shows like The Mandalorianand other than a kick-off image released by director Payton Reed, there has been very little else heard about the film, which will make its theatrical debut in July 2023. While all focus is currently on the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessthere are a few details known about the Ant-Man sequel that will make it just as important to the MCU when its release date comes around.

In the images, there is nothing at all to hint at what is going on in the scene or the film story, and are simply a couple of shots of Paul Rudd looking like they could have been taken this week or twenty years ago of the never -aging star. This does nothing to help fans to work out what the sequel is going to focus on, or how it is going to influence the MCU’s future as the last announced movie currently in the Marvel slate.

Jonathan Majors Shares His Thoughts on Transition from Loki to Ant-Man 3

Among the few details that have been confirmed about the Ant-Man 3 sequel, the return of Jonathan Majors in his full Kang The Conqueror form is probably the biggest aspect of the sequel that is a constant talking point amongst Marvel fans. While Kang has already been seen in a less threatening form in the Loki series on Disney +, the multiverse will ensure that this time around Kang is an altogether different enemy to deal with and the ramifications of the movie are likely to reverberate into Phase 5 of the MCU.

Currently, many headlines about the Ant-Man threequel are being dominated by controversial comments made by star Evangeline Lilly, and the social media backlash the actress has faced since making a lengthy post that she shared on her Instagram account. Hopefully as the movie draws closer, the Covid pandemic will have retreated enough for this no longer to be a big talking point in the way of grievances like the issues with Amber Heard and her role of Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have become.

There is still a long way to go before Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is finally released and the new images of Rudd on set will likely not be the only tease we will see in the coming weeks and months as filming continues. As for what it all means, with so many threads to be pulled in over the next movies and TV shows from Marvel it is probably going to be a while before find that out for certain.
