Ken Jeong Immediately Walks Off The Masked Singer Set After Super Awkward Moment

The Masked Singer, a reality show on the FOX Network, features celebrities singing songs while dressing in over-the-top costumes to conceal their identity. Hosted by Nick Cannon, the reality program’s panelists and viewers try to guess the true identities of the masked celebrities based on the clues provided throughout each season. In last week’s episode on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, when Rudy Giuliani was revealed on The Masked Singer (in what many reported as a super “cringe-y and awkward“moment), Ken Jeong staged a mini-protest and walked off-stage.

The Community-alum is one of several panelists on The Masked Singer, based on the South Korean franchise with a similar premise. Also guessing the hidden identities of the performers are Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke. They appear in each episode and vote alongside the audience for their favorite singer after all the episode’s performances. At night’s end, the least popular singer is eliminated, taking off their mask and revealing their true identity.

On Wednesday, the former attorney for former President Trump was voted off The Masked Singer island, and the unmasking stirred up plenty of primetime drama. Giuliani recently had his law license revoked in New York. And in the wake of the 2020 election, the FBI raided his home because he is linked to the people allegedly responsible for pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden. But despite his notoriety, not all the panelists were immediately aware of who Giuliani was when he popped out of his jack-in-the-box. When Giuliani was unveiled as the secret contestant dressed as a giant rooster, judge Nicole Scherzinger asked, “Is that Robert Duval?”

“No… that’s not Robert Duval,” Jeong replied. The former doctor responded, “I’m done,” and walked off-stage as Giuliani continued his rendition of George Thorogood and the Destroyers’ “Bad to the Bone.” But some fans felt that did not excuse Jeong from appearing on such a lousy show, saying, “I think it was good of Ken Jeong to walk off The Masked Singer because of Rudy Giuliani, but this does not in any way excuse Ken Jeong for being involved with The Masked Singer. “

Ken Jeong Guest Stars on Murderville

Netflix recently released the crime-solving improv show, Murdervillestarring Will Arnett as Terry Seattle and featuring a range of talented guest stars. Ken Jeong appeared in the show’s season one finale, which finally solves a cold case that has been hanging over Seattle’s head for years, the murder of his ex-partner Lori (Jennifer Aniston).

As with any improv show, sometimes actors’ slip-ups and laughter winds up in the final edits, but there is one scene that wasn’t allowed in, according to a moment that Jeong shared on his Netflix Is A Joke Instagram page and captioned: “We are so happy this Murderville outtake of Will Arnett’s millennial rant exists. @arnettwill. ”

In the axed moment, Terry asks, “What do you think, Ken ?,” prompting Jeong to improvise a reply. “Could this be like, you remember back in the day, in the 70s, you had these IBM-like computers and those are like information cards. Of course, I do not remember back then! I was born in 1991, 95, 98. I was born in December 1998, so it was practically 1999. ” While the moment was comedically well-timed, Jeong’s raucous laughter could not be edited, and he struggles to maintain a poker face throughout the rest of the scene as Seattle continues, “Okay, I’m a millennial.”
