Lionsgate dropped the trailer for their upcoming movie My Fake Boyfriend. It stars Keiynan Lonsdale, Dylan Sprouse, Samer Salem, Marcus Rosner, Karen Robinson, and Sarah Hyland.
Directed by Rose Troche and written by Luke Albright, Greg Boaldin, and Joe Wanjai Ross, My Fake Boyfriend follows Andrew as a fake boyfriend is used on social media to keep his ex at bay.
The official synopsis reads, “Andrew (Lonsdale) has a major problem: he can not stay away from the toxic boyfriend who just dumped him. His meddling friends (Sprouse, Hyland) decide to help him by creating ‘Cristiano,’ a perfect fake boyfriend on social media. Problem solved, right? Wrong! As Cristiano goes viral and becomes a worldwide sensation, Andrew meets his real-life dream guy, Rafi, a charming restaurant owner. Now, Andrew must find a way to put an end to the fake fling, evade his jealous ex, and win Rafi’s heart in this fun and hilarious comedy about the crazy things we do for love. ”
We see Andrew struggle to let go of his newly ex-boyfriend in the trailer. The plan for the fake boyfriend is then revealed before Rafi is introduced. How long can they keep up the charade? “The longer this goes on the worse it gets,” is heard, moments before it ends with Sprouse’s character talking about love. You can watch it below.

Lonsdale has been carving an impressive career over the years and can be recognized for projects like DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flashand Work It. Sprouse is well-known from very early roles in Big Daddy and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody to more contemporary projects like The Curse of Turandot. Hyland has been seen in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Modern familyand the rest of the cast are also no strangers to the screen.
