Comedian Bo Burnham has surprised his fans by releasing more than an hour’s worth of new material. Last year, Burnham released to Netflix his special Bo Burnham: Inside, which he wrote, directed, and edited all by himself while on lockdown during the pandemic. He also released the special’s original music on the album Inside (The Songs) which was also a success, climbing to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s comedy albums chart and No. 7 on the Top 200. Burnham had also garnered Creative Arts Emmy Awards for Inside.
But there was a lot of material that Burnham had recorded for Inside that did not make it into the final cut. Ready to share that footage with the world, Burnham took to Twitter to first simply post “stand by,” teasing that he had a major announcement forthcoming. This was followed by another tweet revealing his intentions to upload 63 minutes worth of deleted scenes from Bo Burnham: Insideessentially making another comedy special.
Burnham’s tweet reads: “a year ago today, i released a special called inside. I’ve spent the last two months editing together material that i shot for the special but did not end up using. It will be on my youtube channel in one hour. i hope you enjoy it. “
The video is now streaming. Outside websites cannot embed the special, dubbed The Inside Outtakesbut you can watch it for free by heading on over to Youtube.
