Indiana Jones 5 Producer Says Fans Will Be ‘Very Happy’ With The Sequel

We’re just over a year away from the release of Indiana Jones 5 in theaters, and until then, fans can only anticipate the fifth installment of the Harrison Ford-led franchise. The film comes nearly 15 years after the fourth film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skullwas released in 2008. With so many years having since passed, and with that film not quite living up to fans’ expectations, it had long seemed that the movie series had been finished.

But Ford will be back for one last adventure under the fedora. While some fans might be leery that the new film will be a letdown, especially with years of hype, producer Frank Marshall insists that this is not the case. Speaking with A.frameMarshall promises that the wait will be worth it as Indiana Jones 5 is a movie that all of the fans will be happy with.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“It’s a great story, it’s a great character, and I think you’re going to be very happy with this movie. It’s everything I think everybody wants out of an Indiana Jones movie.”

On learning from the fourth film’s missteps, Marshall says he left that up to director James Mangold and the writers. With that said, he’s satisfied with the approach the filmmakers have gone with part five, and he also described the warm feeling of coming back “home” to the franchise after so many years.

“It’s really up to the creative forces that are behind this one, so I leave that to Jim Mangold. As a producer, I always look at my role in these movies as supporting the vision of the director … It’s like going back home . It’s relaxed and fun and very comfortable. Like a home-cooked meal. “

Frank Marshall Has Been With Indy Since the Beginning

Frank Marshall had served as a producer on Raiders of the Lost Arkthe first installment of the Indiana Jones movie series. Released in 1981, the film was an instant success, spawning one of the most popular movie series that remains very popular to this day. The film also brought Marshall some of his earliest success as it was the first movie he’d produced to get nominated for an Academy Award. Marshall reflected on that first Indy film and feels that it remains his favorite filmmaking experience.

“Making Raiders was really, I’d say, my favorite experience of making a movie. There was a whole lot of firsts on that movie. And staying with Indy all these years has just made it a real pleasure. To be able to now do another one has just been fantastic. “

James Mangold directs Indiana Jones 5, as Steven Spielberg stepped down from the director’s chair for this installation after helming all four prior films. Spielberg remained on board to produce with Marshall, Kathleen Kennedy, and Simon Emanuel. Along with Harrison Ford, the film stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, and Antonio Banderas.

Indiana Jones 5 will undoubtedly be breaking the box office when it is released in movie theaters everywhere on June 30, 2023.
